We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team at SLR Consulting. As a key member of our Ecology team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality ecological services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field surveys and collect ecological data on invertebrates
- Interpret and apply environmental legislation and technical guidance to projects
- Develop technical reports detailing the outcomes of field survey programs
- Assist in preparing tenders and proposals
- Integrate technical work into multidisciplinary assessments and project teams
- Travel to remote areas to conduct field survey programs
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 2-6+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in government or academia
- Excellent invertebrate identification skills
- Experience in preparing invertebrate specimens for submission to taxonomic experts
- Mature report writing and computer skills
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Experience in the interpretation of molecular data for invertebrate species identification
- Experience with subterranean fauna survey and reporting
