We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Surgical Services team as a Nurse Educator - Periop (Recovery & Anaesthetics), where you will be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality clinical education through the development, coordination, and evaluation of training programs that support nursing/midwifery staff, students, and service needs.
- Leading professional development initiatives, providing mentorship, competency assessment, and evidence-based guidance to enhance individual and team performance.
- Supporting service excellence and safety, using data-driven insights to align practice with policy, drive quality improvement, and embed culturally responsive care.
- Collaborating on strategic projects, contributing to research, innovation, and change management to improve educational outcomes and clinical service delivery.
- Championing professional leadership, acting as a role model and expert resource while shaping future leaders through structured performance development and capability planning.
- Current registration (or eligibility) as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
- Proven experience in nursing education or staff development, with the ability to apply education theory to clinical practice.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to manage change, resolve conflict, and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and evaluate education programs across clinical and community settings, using innovative and flexible approaches.
- Experience in peri-operative nursing and an understanding of current healthcare and nursing/midwifery issues.
- Relocation financial support may be negotiated, subject to eligibility.
- Salary package includes a range of benefits up to $9,010 each FBT year plus $2,650 for Meal Entertainment expenses each FBT year.
