Physical Education and Health Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Physical Education and Health Teacher to join our dynamic team at a Catholic school in St Albans, Melbourne's West. As a full-time teacher, you will inspire and educate students in Years 7-10, promoting a love of physical activity and healthy living.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum, incorporating a range of sports and activities to promote physical fitness and well-being.
- Teach health-related topics, including nutrition, mental health, and personal development, to equip students with the knowledge and skills to make informed lifestyle choices.
- Conduct physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.
- Organize and maintain PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
- Assess students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Valid VIT registration
- Understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and experience teaching in Victoria/Australia
- Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification, with further study an advantage
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years from upper management
- An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system
