Physical Education and Health Educator

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Physical Education and Health Educator to join our dynamic team at a Catholic school in St Albans, Melbourne's West. As a full-time teacher, you will inspire and educate students in Years 7-10, promoting a love of physical activity and healthy living.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum, incorporating health and well-being, nutrition, mental health, and personal development.
- Provide clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Conduct physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
- Organize and maintain PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
- Integrate health education components into PE lessons to promote students' understanding of health-related topics.
- Assess students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment.
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Valid VIT registration.
- Understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and experience teaching in Victoria/Australia.
- Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification, with further study an advantage.
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years from upper management.
- An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system.
