Automation Systems Specialist

About the RoleWe're looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you'll be responsible for fault finding, troubleshooting, and improving controls solutions for automated material handling equipment (MHE). You'll also mentor team members and drive innovations that impact customer deliveries daily.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the wider team to provide a high level of equipment availability to internal customers.
- Coach and train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to foster an environment of continuous learning.
- Collaborate with the EU Controls network to enhance the capability to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
- Collaborate with IT, EU Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to maintain system documentation and backup procedures.
- Collaborate with Global teams to support the installation and commission of new equipment.
- Support other sites in the AU network as required.
- Interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Improve strategies for code conforming to IEC 61131-3.
- Relevant experience with PLC controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
- Experience supporting a wide range of different conveyors and sortation systems.
- Experience in dealing with material handling, flow, and capacity visualization and monitoring.
