About The Role

SLS requires a Full time Laboratory Technician to join our Melbourne (Williamstown North) NATA accredited Chemical Testing Laboratory to perform sampling on soil, water, and air samples in a fast-paced laboratory.

SLS requires a Full time Laboratory Technician to join our Melbourne (Williamstown North) NATA accredited Chemical Testing Laboratory to perform sampling on soil, water, and air samples in a fast-paced laboratory.

What we are looking for is a technically oriented person with great attention to detail and someone with a demonstrated minimum of 2 years' experience.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

  • Weighing and preparation of the samples
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation in accordance with national standards
  • Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory quality control and quality assurance systems
  • Report low stock of consumables, standards, chemicals etc

Skills And Experience That Are Required
  • Ability to work in team or independently
  • Ability to reason and interpret with good attention to detail and clear record keeping
  • Intermediate or higher in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Full rights to work full-time in Australia (Australian citizen or permanent resident)
  • Demonstrated 2 years' experience within a laboratory
  • Tertiary qualification related to a chem. Lab
  • Positive attitude
