Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Advisor to join our Support Office in Abbotsford, Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement, coordinating incident management reporting and analysis, and developing internal health, safety, and compliance strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with operational leaders and managers to drive a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate incident management reporting and analysis, and verify hazard control effectiveness.
  • Lead incident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation, and any corrective actions arising are monitored for completion.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance internal health, safety, and compliance strategies, plans, and policies necessary to optimize business performance and manage risk and compliance.
  • Key contributor of incident, safety, compliance, risk, and governance-related reporting to the Safety Committee, Management, Board, Audit Committee, Risk Committee, and regulators.
  • Operational compliance, including liquor, food, and other relevant license and regulatory compliance, and carrying out internal audits and risk assessments where required.
  • Contribute to the Risk Management framework and systems to achieve an integrated risk program and culture across the business.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Work Health & Safety, Compliance, and/or Risk role.
  • Cert IV in Work Health and Safety, as a minimum.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the current WHS legislation and landscape, regulations, Australian standards, and codes of practice.
  • Proven experience in safety regulations and compliance, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
  • Proactive, ability to work autonomously, with a sense of urgency, and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-organized planner who works well under timeline pressures.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
