Job Overview

The Electrician will be responsible for undertaking electrical work including preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and new installations as required, both onboard naval and commercial vessels and in the Electrical workshop.

  • Proper use of battery, electric and pneumatic power tools and workshop machines is essential for this role.
  • Running of cables onboard naval and commercial vessels requires a high level of skill and attention to detail.
  • Termination of fixed wiring onboard naval and commercial vessels is a critical aspect of the job.
  • Fitting of cable support systems onboard naval and commercial vessels is also a key responsibility.
  • Soft soldering of terminations within panels, junction boxes etc. is another important task in this role.
Requirements
  • Australian recognised Electrical Trade Certificate is a mandatory requirement for this position.
  • A current Induction for Construction Work (White Card) is also necessary.
  • A current Qualified Supervisor Certificate (Electrical Licence) is highly desirable.
  • This role may involve some overtime (evening and weekend hours).
  • Candidates must be able to work in a multi-cultural, multi trade environment.
  • Familiarity with confined space and working at heights requirements is an advantage.
