Primary Medical Care Specialist

As a skilled healthcare professional, you will deliver high-quality primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of Defence personnel for fitness for duty, considering their medical history and current health status.
  • Provide expert medical technical advice to senior officers and colleagues on various aspects of healthcare.
  • Support a team of experienced medical professionals, collaborating to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

You may be required to work in outpatient or inpatient settings, providing medical services as needed. This role involves working Monday and Friday, with on-call duties that include one weekend in every four and one weekday per week.

Requirements
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum two years' full-time postgraduate experience in general practice within the last five years.
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development activities, adhering to AHPRA guidelines.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
