Linux Kernel Specialist

The company is a pioneer of global distributed collaboration, with colleagues in many countries and very few office-based roles. Teams meet regularly to align on strategy and execution.

Key responsibilities include driving engagements for key partners to provide optimal solutions for their platforms, leading the mitigation of common vulnerabilities, and architecting enhancements to performance and correctness.

Requirements include strong communication skills, expert understanding of C programming language, and demonstrated expertise working in a *nix-based operating system kernel and distribution.

Nice-to-have skills include strong background in RTOS, experience with kernel patching and debugging, and prior experience with Rust.

  • Driving engagements for key partners: Provide optimal solutions for their platforms by mitigating vulnerabilities and enhancing performance.
  • Leading the mitigation of common vulnerabilities: Mitigate common vulnerabilities and exposures for Ubuntu Linux.
  • Architecting enhancements: Architect enhancements to performance and correctness to make Ubuntu Linux the most reliable and highest performing Linux kernel available today.
  • Streamlining packaging and distribution: Streamline the packaging and distribution of particularly troublesome third-party components for optimal experience by end users.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong Communication Skills: Written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Expert Understanding of C Programming Language: Expert understanding of the C programming language.
  • Demonstrated Expertise Working in a *nix-Based Operating System Kernel: Demonstrated expertise working in a *nix-based operating system kernel and distribution.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Strong Background in RTOS: Strong background in Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Experience with Kernel Patching and Debugging: Experience with kernel patching and debugging.
  • Prior Experience with Rust: Prior experience with Rust, ideally as it pertains to the Linux kernel.
