We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineering Manager with 8 years of experience in data structures or algorithms and 5 years of software development expertise in one or more programming languages. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, along with 3 years of experience managing teams, leading projects, and designing distributed systems.

This role involves managing a team of software and systems engineers, delivering manager responsibilities, and setting priorities for the team. You will establish technical credibility, influence technical direction, and drive high-quality delivery.

You will participate in on-call rotations, cultivate a growth mindset, and foster a blameless postmortem culture within the team.

About the Role:

The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team at Google combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale systems. As an SRE, you will have the opportunity to manage complex challenges at scale, utilizing your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis, and large-scale system design.

Responsibilities include leading teams, delivering OKR execution, establishing technical partnerships, and driving technical direction.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in data structures or algorithms
  • 5+ years of software development expertise in one or more programming languages
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams, leading projects, and designing distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
