Job Summary

The NSW Government is seeking a highly skilled Radiologist to join our team at St George Hospital. As a key member of our Diagnostic Radiology team, you will be responsible for reporting on ED and other examinations from 0800 to 2400 hours each day, with the opportunity to participate in TEG functions, including training and supervision of registrars, MDT attendance, consultation with clinical teams, quality improvement, research, and more.

About the Role

This is a Category A position, and all applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy PD2022_030. Successful applicants will be required to provide vaccination history and pathology as part of the application documentation and be certified as compliant before employment can commence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Reporting on ED and other examinations from 0800 to 2400 hours each day
  2. Participating in TEG functions, including training and supervision of registrars, MDT attendance, consultation with clinical teams, quality improvement, research, and more
  3. Providing high-quality clinical care in the public sector setting
  4. Contributing to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives
  5. Participating in research relevant to the role and needs of the Department

Requirements

  • Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1973 and the relevant Award/Determination
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality service in the specialty, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff
