Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chef Manager to lead our kitchen operations in a remote FIFO/DIDO mining village.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial cookery, with experience managing high-volume meal services and teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals to our residents.
  • Manage inventory, stock control, and food safety compliance.
  • Develop and implement rotating menus that meet client nutritional, cultural, and dietary requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations managers, camp managers, clients, and HSEQ teams to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Monitor and control food costs, reduce wastage, and maintain quality standards.
Requirements
  • Trade Certificate, Cert III or Cert IV in commercial cookery.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing high-volume meal services in remote FIFO/DIDO mining villages or industrial camps.
  • Proficient in rostering, delegation, conflict resolution, and driving a high-performance culture under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and compliance (HACCP, FSANZ, AS/NZS ISO 22000:2018).
  • Ability to handle large-scale catering (300+ residents), including shift-based meal rotations (breakfast, crib, dinner, night shift).
