About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team at VMCH, where you will play a vital role in supporting students with communication needs in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver therapy and support students in a group-based model, working closely with teachers to enhance their communication skills.
- Implement school-wide communication goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Assess, design, and produce communication plans to meet the unique needs of students, including those with complex communication requirements.
- Liaise with support services and professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students with communication needs.
- Contribute to Student Support Groups, providing expertise and guidance to ensure effective communication strategies are in place.
- Provide professional development for school staff, enhancing their knowledge and skills in supporting students with communication needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology)
- First Aid Certificate
- Working with Children check
Desirable
- Knowledge and skills in working with students with disabilities
- Experience in addressing complex communication needs through implementing communication strategies and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) technologies
