Seeking a highly skilled nursing professional to join our dynamic Operating Theatres team at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Scrub/Scout nurses to work across a wide range of surgical specialties in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care to patients across multiple specialties.
  • Assess, plan, and coordinate the delivery of individualised patient care.
  • Monitor and report on patient condition during surgical procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams.

We deliver a comprehensive range of surgical services including orthopaedic, neurosurgical, cardiothoracic, plastic, vascular, urological, gynaecological, and general surgery. You will play an essential role in delivering perioperative care across this diverse and fast-paced setting.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum of 2 years' scrub/scout experience in an operating theatre setting.
  • Experience in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, or cardiac surgery (highly desirable).
  • Strong clinical judgement and excellent time management skills.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative, team-focused attitude and commitment to patient care.
