This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 5 years. The role will be based at Western Sydney University's Hawkesbury or Parramatta South campus, although travel to other campuses may be required.

You are a future-focused IT leader with the capability to manage complex technology environments. You bring deep technical expertise and proven leadership in high-stakes settings, as well as a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and deliver the infrastructure and networking roadmap.
  • Lead hybrid cloud and on-premise lifecycle management.
  • Embed cybersecurity, compliance, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Manage vendors and operational budgets.
  • Champion Enterprise Service Management platform (e.g. ServiceNow) and IaC practices.
  • Represent IT Operations at executive and University-wide forums.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience managing enterprise infrastructure across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Demonstrated success in leading technical teams to deliver high-availability services.
  • Expertise in network design, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience overseeing vendor performance.
  • Proficiency in Azure, AWS, ServiceNow, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity integration and enterprise governance frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
