About the Role

We are seeking experienced Security Officers to join our team at MA Services Group in Cairns, North Queensland. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly patrol buildings, grounds, and parking lots to detect and prevent potential security threats
  • Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to ensure prompt response to any incidents
  • Perform routine checks of doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure
  • Control access to facilities and issue and monitor access badges for staff and visitors
  • Enforce policies regarding building entry and access
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents such as accidents, medical emergencies, and disturbances
  • Provide first aid or CPR if trained and necessary
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required
  • Write detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and suspicious behavior
  • Escort staff or visitors upon request, especially during late hours
  • Assist in the implementation of emergency plans and procedures
  • Identify potential security risks and recommend improvements
  • Build positive relationships with staff and visitors
  • Promote a sense of safety and security within the campus community
  • Participate in regular training sessions and drills for various emergency scenarios
  • Assist in the coordination of evacuation procedures and emergency response efforts
Requirements
  • Current Queensland Security License
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Proven experience in a Corporate or Education environment highly preferred
  • Excellent Situational Awareness and Observation skills
  • Excellent level of self-presentation and grooming standards
  • A Positive and Proactive Approach to day-to-day situations
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and customer service
  • Evening & Weekend availability
  • Strong written communication skills, including incident report writing
  • Ability to time manage and work in a high-paced team environment
  • High Attention to detail
