Seeking a motivated and organised Policy Officer to contribute to the development and implementation of projects to improve regulatory assurance activities.

The Plant Export Operations Branch facilitates trade and market access through the development of technical operational phytosanitary export inspection and certification policies.

Key duties include contributing to project initiatives, researching and analysing complex operational policies, delivering presentations to project boards and industry forums, creating and reviewing policy and procedures, and maintaining project management approach.

This position requires an understanding of relevant legislative frameworks, engaging with stakeholders, drafting decision briefs and legislative instruments.

A successful applicant will have strong research and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing new and existing assurance/audit policies, providing leadership and supervision, and developing instructional material for audit, assurance and compliance activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, or business administration, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
