Gold Mining Geologist Role

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our company. With production underway at Paulsens and Kal East, a robust project pipeline, and rapid exploration across our tenements, the company has a clear vision of sustainable multi-operation gold production.

We are seeking a Gold Mining Geologist - Open Pit for the Kal East Gold Operation to help position the Kalgoorlie project for long-term success.

The position is FIFO from Perth or residential from Kalgoorlie with a negotiable roster. Our operations are located within a 40km radius of the centralised processing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the open pit geology team, overseeing all grade control activities.
  • Ensure the implementation of fit for purpose workflows to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution.
  • Strong experience as a geologist in open pit gold mining including leading a team.
  • Experience with mining software that includes 3D modelling and resource estimation methods as required for day to day, near term mine planning and geology software packages such as Deswik, Datamine, Leapfrog and Acquire.
  • Excellent understanding of grade control, sampling practices, and mining methods, systems and processes.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or equivalent.
  • Strong experience as a geologist in open pit gold mining including leading a team.
  • Ability to implement, improve and develop procedures for all aspects of the open pit geology department.
  • Knowledge and experience in sampling, Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC), drillhole and database validation, block modelling, reporting and mine reconciliation.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in risk management, safety and environmental systems and legislative and statutory requirements.
  • Familiar with budgeting cycles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
