About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at George Weston Foods. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including scheduled and preventative maintenance, to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance work and ensure optimal customer outcomes.
  • Conduct regular plant and workshop inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and documentation.
  • Identify and escalate issues promptly to management for effective solutions.
  • Optimize interfaces between different work areas to improve efficiency and productivity.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong background in mechanical maintenance and a passion for delivering high-quality results. Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Mechanical Fitter & Turner)
  • Prior maintenance experience in the food or feed manufacturing sector (FMCG) with feed milling equipment
  • Extensive fault-finding and problem-solving expertise
  • Ability to handle complex problems with a logical and systematic approach
  • Good understanding of and commitment to health and safety work practices
  • Valid driver's license
  • Restricted Electrical Licence (manufacturing equipment) is desirable
