About the Role

The Honourable Justice Moore is seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join his team as an Associate. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience working in the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assisting with Judgment Production: The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the production of judgments, including proofreading and editing.
  2. Court Clerking: The Associate will be required to clerk in court, ensuring the smooth operation of the judicial process.
  3. File Review and Management: The candidate will be responsible for reviewing files and orders, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with court procedures.
  4. Administrative Support: The Associate will provide administrative support to the judge, including preparing material for use in court and maintaining court records.
  5. Research and Analysis: The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing research memoranda and providing analysis to support the judge's decision-making.
  6. Interpersonal Communication: The Associate will be required to liaise with court staff, the public, the media, and the profession, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  1. Legal Qualifications: The successful candidate must be qualified in Law and have a strong academic record.
  2. Experience: At least two years post-admission experience in the litigation department of a law firm (or similar) is desirable.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for this role.
