Position Overview
ALS Geochemistry is seeking Mineral Sample Technicians to operate within our Sample Preparation division at our facility.

Mineral Sample Technicians are responsible for utilizing machinery that crushes, divides, and pulverizes mineral samples for laboratory examination. This role is set in a dynamic, dusty environment where prior production experience and adaptability in scheduling are advantageous.

This Casual role entails working on an Afternoon Shift schedule: Monday through Friday, from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities include:

Managing rock, core, and drill samples Operating sample preparation machinery – crushers, pulverizers, splitters, and scales Conducting routine manual tasks, including lifting and remaining on your feet throughout the day Sorting and labeling samples numerically Wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator Collaborating with team members to meet daily production goals Residential Requirement
This role requires residency in the area with valid Australian work rights to be considered.

Physically and mentally fit, prepared for repetitive manual tasks Dependable, responsible, and demonstrating excellent attendance Proficient verbal and written communication skills, particularly in number recognition Ability to accurately follow instructions and protocols (including safety, quality, and conduct) High attention to detail Integrity and respect towards others Willingness to work diligently while prioritizing quality, safety, and productivity Comfort working in a dusty, noisy environment with hazardous materials Working at ALS
