Role Overview
Austin Health is a leading provider of tertiary health services, professional education and research across three campuses in the North East of Melbourne and state-wide.
The Perioperative Services on Austin campus include 11 Operating Rooms, 2 Procedure Rooms, and 2 Endoscopy Rooms. The environment is one of multidisciplinary teamwork where staff members must work flexibly in all specialised areas of the operating suite.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain OH&S and infection control principles
- Test and use equipment required for surgery
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment
- Assist technicians in other rooms as needed
Requirements:
- Certificate 3 or 4 in Healthcare (Theatre Technician)
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an operating theatre technician
- Effective teamworking skills
- Problem-solving skills
