Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Public Relations professional to develop and execute strategic communication plans that align with our organisational goals.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to enhance our reputation and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Draft and disseminate press releases, media statements, and other public relations materials to promote our brand and messaging.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with media outlets, respond to media inquiries, and facilitate media interviews as needed.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications to ensure consistency in messaging and reinforce our organisational values.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce engaging content across digital and traditional platforms, leveraging social media and other channels to reach our target audience.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies, identifying areas for improvement and implementing data-driven recommendations.
  • Support event planning and promotional activities to enhance public engagement and promote our brand.
  • Ensure all communications align with our organisational values and objectives, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity at all times.
Requirements
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in public relations, media liaison, or communications roles, with a strong track record of success.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Knowledge of the not-for-profit industry and its unique communication needs, with experience working with remote Indigenous communities highly regarded.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing competing demands effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and media representatives.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media, to engage with audiences and promote our brand.
