Technical Supervisor Job Description

The role of a Technical Supervisor is crucial in guiding and mentoring skilled trades teams to drive technical excellence, ensure compliance, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of skilled trade staff and apprentices, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Allocate tasks and manage workflow in accordance with the End-to-End Maintenance Process, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective time management.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and technical investigations as needed, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing strategies to enhance performance and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a workshop or maintenance environment, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1), along with Australian citizenship.
