Air Transport Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Air Transport Operations Manager to join our team at BHP. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of air transport services to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mitigate risk by ensuring all aviation service requirements, federal and state regulations, standards, statutes, processes, and procedures are effectively identified, proactively managed, and delivered upon.
- Ensure that air transport and aerodrome activities meet current and future plans and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and coordinate all flight and air transport services to ensure performance targets are met and options to improve site experiences are maximised.
- Oversee site bus contract and manage schedule.
- Daily support and oversight of the Prominent Hill facilities management contract.
- Review existing processes and procedures with a clear vision and dedication to improving, streamlining, and automating service delivery.
- Seek out and review customer satisfaction regarding services and where improvement opportunities are identified, ensure critical stakeholder engagement occurs and follow-up activities are explored and implemented.
We are looking for an individual with demonstrated experience in a supervisory/managerial role within aviation, mining, hospitality, tourism, or similar environment.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience and understanding of how to leverage partnerships to improve service offerings continually.
A highly developed working knowledge of, or commitment to, developing capability relating to the aviation sector, including aerodrome management, and understanding of industry and CASA regulations is essential.
Previous experience in building and maintaining effective systems that deliver the highest levels of safety and performance while achieving production targets is required.
Strongly developed commercial acumen and negotiation skills, including experience in managing diverse, high-value contracts, are necessary.
A proven ability to foster strategic, collaborative partnerships with service providers, which improves service delivery, is also required.
Previous experience in acting on customer feedback but also ensuring a focus on the long game and key strategy delivery is desirable.
Proven ability to engage others and develop relationships across a diverse workforce and one that understands the value of team engagement and recognition is essential.
Demonstrated ability to create open lines of communication and proactively schedule contract partner performance meetings/reviews to align priorities to deliver on outcomes and KPIs is required.
Well-developed ability to engage with stakeholders to ensure the solution meets requirements, monitoring and escalating variances in project performance, schedule, and cost as required.
The following qualifications, accreditations, and licenses are important:
- Aerodrome Reporting Officer certification from an RTO
- Valid Drivers' license
- Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) and Managing Contracted Aviation Risk (MCAR) training
The estimated salary range for this role is between $120,000 - $180,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
