Building Surveyor Role

\

We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join our team in Sydney.

\

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including high-profile commercial buildings, retail, industrial and public use projects.

\

This role offers the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in building surveying, accessibility and compliance management.

\

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Building Code of Australia and relevant state-based regulations, as well as providing documentation management and technical project management.

\

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to company performance targets.

\

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in building surveying, including experience working on large, complex commercial projects.

\

Accreditation and associated memberships within state requirements are also necessary.

\

Finally, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

\

Key Responsibilities:

\
  • Assessing project documentation and liaising with clients to facilitate the issuance of building permits.\
  • Providing documentation management, including ensuring that job files and other office systems are completed accurately and timely.\
  • Ensuring communication with authorities and councils via notification of requests for information is timely and accurate.\
  • Technical and project management of projects, including client / site meetings, site inspection and written and verbal communication with all stakeholders.\
  • Training and mentoring junior colleagues on Company processes.\
  • Progressive involvement in performance reviews of junior colleagues / Actively support, encourage and provide input to all quality and safety systems.\
  • Following all health and safety policies and procedures.\
  • Identify and report quality issues and implement preventative actions.\
  • Maintain minimum CPD requirements in accordance with relevant state and national accreditation bodies.

Requirements:

\
  • Successful completion or undertaking University degree, or any equivalent formal qualifications and studied locally or from an internationally recognised organization.\
  • 5+ years' experience working on large, complex commercial projects.\
  • Accreditation and associated memberships within state requirements.\
  • Maintain minimum CPD requirements in accordance with relevant state and national accreditation bodies.\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.\
  • Able to mentor people around them.
