">About the Position
  • We are looking for a candidate with Fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or international equivalent.
  • Eligibility for AHPRA Specialist Registration in Psychiatry is essential.
  • Expertise in any subspecialty, particularly Child & Youth Psychiatry and Rural / Remote Mental Health, will be prioritised.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care across diverse communities.
  • Strong communication skills and cultural competence, especially when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, are vital.
About the Service

This public mental health service provides comprehensive care across a vast catchment area, spanning from Tully in the south to the Torres Strait Islands in the north, and west to Croydon.

The region services a population of approximately 275,000 people, including significant proportions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The service is based in Cairns, but outreach spans rural and remote locations.
