Our organisation is seeking individuals who are passionate about helping people with disabilities to reach their full potential.

We are looking for Disability Support Workers to work within our team located in Byron Bay and surrounds. This role will see you working a range of different shifts with multiple participants, ensuring they receive person-centred care and support.

About the Role
  • Assisting clients with recreational or social activities and outings
  • Providing personal care assistance including showering, toileting, and personal hygiene
  • Supporting clients with domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
  • Working in a group or centre-based setting, assisting with activities such as art therapy classes and equine therapy
  • Transporting clients to appointments or social engagements
  • Working in a Supported Independent Living accommodation facility, assisting with life skills to enable independence

You will be at the forefront of delivering services that meet the individual needs and goals of our participants, enabling independence and choice and control over everything they do.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Empathy and a caring and compassionate approach to clients
  • A genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities and their inclusion within the community
  • Work or life experience in supporting someone with a disability
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • An understanding of complex needs, mental health conditions, and alcohol and drug abuse
  • A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children's Check and Police Check, or willing to obtain
  • Current driver's licence and own reliable transport
  • Comfortable assisting clients of all ages
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant qualifications such as Cert III or higher in Disability

This is a casual opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate.
