Supporting Migrant and Refugee Communities

This role focuses on ensuring care is safe, inclusive and culturally meaningful for individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will help people connect with their personal goals, community, culture or belonging by providing intentional, strengths-based peer support.

As a navigator, you will facilitate group sessions to build connection and confidence, offer one-on-one support and care planning, and help individuals navigate community services.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Building relationships with migrant and refugee communities

  • Facilitating group sessions to promote connection and confidence
  • Navigating community services to meet individual needs

Requirements:

  • Personal experience of mental distress and accessing healthcare services
  • Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, AOD or tertiary qualification in social science or 1+ year relevant work experience in the Mental Health Sector
  • Intentional Peer Support Training
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Current and valid driver licence
  • National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
