Job Title: Veterinary Medicine Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to deliver exceptional medical services to pets and their families. Our hospital is dedicated to providing top-notch specialist veterinary care in the Canberra region.

As a Veterinary Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, including:

  • Providing compassionate care to both patients and clients
  • Caring for hospitalized patients and recovering patients after procedures
  • Preparing, facilitating, and monitoring for procedures
  • Planning, facilitating, and monitoring anesthesia
  • Preparing patients for procedures
  • Ensuring a clean and hygienic environment throughout the hospital
  • Assisting with consultations
  • Conducting handover of patients

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, specialty experience preferred but training can be provided
  • Strong technical nursing skills, proficiency in IV catheter placement, blood sampling, and performing a TPR advantageous
  • Knowledge of RxWorks and Smartflow desirable but not essential
  • A good general nursing knowledge base
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations
  • A positive, flexible, enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to work closely within a team and autonomously
