Design a Positive Impact for Public Services

As a skilled UI/Digital Designer, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in public sector services through your work with Local Peoples. Our mission is to design healthy, resilient, and resourceful communities.

We are a certified B-Corporation with a strong focus on social, environmental, and economic impact. Our team is comprised of experts in human-centred design, brand design, service design, user experience (UX) design, design research, communications, and place design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute end-to-end customer experience strategies.
  • Create industry-grade design artefacts and contribute to report writing for applied research and publication purposes.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver design solutions that meet their needs.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience working in an agency or within government.
  • Extensive human-centred design experience, including design thinking, systems thinking, and agile methodologies.
  • Experience creating service blueprints, system maps, customer journeys, and supporting the execution of product or service delivery.
  • Strong skills in conducting customer research, problem solving, journey mapping, ideation, prototyping, and testing solutions.
  • Expertise in digital transformation and/or omnichannel strategies.
  • Knowledge of current trends in digital and interaction design.
  • Experience using Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, CC, and other design tools.
Additional Requirements
  • Hold a current ASGVA Baseline clearance or be able to obtain one.
  • Be an Australian Citizen.

We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, based on experience and location. This role is open to Canberra-based applicants.
