Melbourne, Victoria, Australia beBeeCustomerCentric Full time $90,000 - $120,000
Visual Merchandising Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Visual Merchandising Specialist to drive the visual appeal of our product range on our websites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving navigation and discoverability of products we sell.

This role partners closely with our Purchasing team and requires a deep understanding of our product categories through market research and data analysis to create an optimal shopping experience for our customers.

If you're customer-centric with a sound understanding of optimising customer shopping journeys and experiences, this is a perfect role to enhance your career in a Marketing team and eCommerce pioneer.

  • Manage online visual merchandising in line with brand guidelines for the website and its subsidiary sites including digital marketing campaigns.
  • Build knowledge of categories and how customers shop the categories through extensive online research, close collaboration with the Purchasing team, and deep dive into Google Analytics and other web data.
  • Research product specification requirements in all categories to set standards of product information to source from suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing team to implement product merchandising best practices and quality control processes.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and updates on site, including navigation, search optimisation, category and product page updates, to keep content fresh, engaging and in line with the promotional plan and seasonal trends.
  • Conduct customer and competitor research to build a deep understanding and best-in-class category merchandising.
  • Analyse visitor browsing, purchasing behaviour, and customer journeys across multiple channels, devices, and touchpoints, to ensure our visual communication places the customer front of mind.
  • Support data analysis to drive business and inform product strategies, including regular reporting and research.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Marketing, and Engineering teams to support website improvement initiatives.
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve website content, functions, existing processes, and partner with the broader business to achieve this.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Marketing, Communications or similar).
  • Experience in Online Merchandising, Digital Marketing, Website Layouts, Category Management or CX functions; preferably in a Retail or eCommerce environment.
  • Passion for understanding consumer behaviour and improving customer experience.
  • Highly analytical and ready to delve into data - you'll be working in the detail and making recommendations on what you find.
  • Experience with web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) is preferred.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities – you'll be managing a high volume of tasks simultaneously without missing a beat.
  • A whiz with Microsoft Excel (we're talking VLOOKUP and pivot tables, not SUM and AVERAGE).
  • Inquisitive and ready to be challenged - we're not afraid of putting in hard work to deliver a superior product.
