Mason Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced mason to join our team in Melbourne.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Reading and interpreting building plans and specifications to carry out masonry tasks
  • Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials
  • Perform structural repairs and restoration as required
  • Apply occupational health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures in the construction industry
  • Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently
  • Build and dismantle low-level scaffolds within safety limits
  • Oversee project progress to ensure delivery within timelines and quality standards
  • Coordinate with site supervisors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Manage on-site compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards
  • Identify and resolve site issues in real-time
Requirements:
  • Trade-qualified with minimum experience of 3 years masonry (5+ years preferred)
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret building plans
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • AQF Certificate III including at least one year of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of building codes, construction standards, and plan interpretation
  • Reliable, punctual
  • Driver's license
  • Commitment to safe work practices and workplace health and safety
  • Trade/machine tickets (e.g. working at heights, white card) are an advantage
