Human Factors Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Human Factors Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring our major infrastructure projects are safe, intuitive, and accessible for everyone.

  • Lead human factors initiatives on large-scale infrastructure projects, focusing on user needs and performance principles.
  • Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and clients to integrate human factors into design and development.
  • Conduct research, workshops, and user studies to inform design decisions.
  • Evaluate designs and solutions against relevant accessibility standards.
  • Provide expert guidance and consultation, representing the company at a senior level.

About You:

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in human factors, with a strong portfolio of work. They must be able to confidently engage with and influence stakeholders, engineers, and clients. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.

A passion for creating designs that are functional, safe, efficient, and accessible is crucial. The successful candidate will have a proactive and collaborative mindset, ready to tackle complex challenges and contribute to a high-performing team.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience in human factors or a related discipline
  • A relevant ergonomics/human factors/organisational psychology degree (bachelor or masters)
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, with a desire to achieve registered/chartered status
