Position Overview

This role is crucial within a new facility, aimed at individuals who are enthusiastic about precision machining and possess a solid background in operating diverse lathes and milling machines. The position demands a talented and adaptable operator capable of overseeing the facility in a B2B rotation. Given the leadership aspect of the role, candidates should be mechanically inclined and responsible for setting up and operating mills and lathes to manufacture high-quality components in accordance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute machining tasks based on engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Transport materials within the facility using a forklift.
  • Re-thread, repair pipes, and flanges according to client specifications.
  • Report any machine and infrastructure issues.
  • Complete product and inspection documentation in line with the client's Quality Management System.
  • Perform fitting, maintenance, and general manual tasks.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and safety practices.
  • Communicate any discrepancies between operational procedures and safety protocols to management.
  • Interpret and understand engineering drawings.
  • Maintain accurate daily records.
  • Ensure precise completion of job and time documentation.
  • Assist in fitting, maintenance, and general tasks as needed.
  • Care for and organize company gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Travel to sites and provide direct assistance as required.
  • Engage in training to enhance skills for client-required services.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and practices.
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and that of colleagues.
  • Follow lawful instructions from the employer regarding safety.
  • Understand and comply with all safety measures necessary for machine operation.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A current and relevant Trade Certificate.
  • Appropriate qualifications and licenses.
  • Knowledge of manual and computer-controlled turning and milling equipment.
  • Understanding of various steel grades and their machining characteristics.
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • A Forklift High-Risk License.
  • 3-5 years of experience in operating and programming metalworking machinery in a customer-focused manufacturing environment.
  • Physical fitness suitable for the role.
