Support Worker – Community and SIL

We are seeking experienced Support Workers to join our team and work in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) Homes and with Clients in the Community.

As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you can make a real difference in the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist clients with their daily living needs, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Support clients to participate in community activities, such as shopping, socializing, and recreational pursuits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support is provided.
- Collaborate with colleagues and management to ensure a high-quality service is delivered.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support client care planning and review.

Essential Criteria:

- Full NSW Drivers Licence and own vehicle to use every shift
- Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability (or Aged/Individual Support) Care, Mental Health. (NB: equivalent overseas Nursing/Clinical or related qualifications will be considered)
- 2+ years experience working in a disability support role, particularly with manual handling and complex behaviours
- Experience in supporting clients with intellectual disabilities, ASD, and mental health diagnoses
- Medication assistance/management skills
- National Police Check (dated within the past year)
- Current Working with Children's Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Covid-19 Vaccination Passport (2 x doses)
- NDISWC
- Intermediate computer skills
- Understanding of WHS
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to have fun at work

Requirements:

- Availability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
- Ability to commit to regular shifts and provide notice for absences
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates

Experience:

- Manual handling: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDISWC (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
