About the Program

The Graduate Development Program is a rotational program that offers opportunities to work in various areas of the department, including:

  • Veterinary Export and Meat Branch
  • Live Animal Export Branch
  • Animal Biosecurity Branch
  • Animal and Biological Imports Branch
  • The Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer
  • Animal Welfare Branch
  • Export Standards Branch
  • Northern Australian Quarantine Strategy
  • Animal Health Surveillance Team
  • Animal Health Policy

During the program, graduates will support and contribute to the department's national and international functions and responsibilities. They will also have the opportunity to take advantage of the diverse work of the department through workplace rotations and structured learning.

Mandatory qualifications include a recognized veterinary qualification and transcripts must be provided as part of the application.
