Chief Education Officer for Aboriginal Children

The Department of Education invites a visionary leader to spearhead initiatives that enhance educational outcomes and foster nurturing environments for our youngest learners. As the Executive Director, Quality, Participation & Connections, you will drive improved outcomes for all children through high-quality early childhood education and care.
About the Role
This leadership position plays a critical role in shaping transformative policies and innovative program delivery. You will champion and advance culturally responsive and Aboriginal-led ECEC through policy and program delivery, ensuring all Aboriginal children and their families are supported to enrol in quality, culturally inclusive ECEC where their culture is celebrated, and children can flourish.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver early childhood education programs that lift learning and development outcomes
* Champion and advance culturally responsive and Aboriginal-led ECEC through policy and program delivery
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education, business, management, social sciences or communications
* Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check)
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
* Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management in a large complex organisation
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

What We Offer
* Ongoing Public Service Senior Executive Band 2 role with a remuneration range of $306,487 - $342,641 per annum
* Based in Parramatta with flexible work options
