Job Title: Roof Tiling Trainer

About the Role

We are seeking a professional trainer and assessor to teach and assess our roof, wall and floor tiling courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the course structure, schedule and delivery.

  • Teach students how to plan and manage examining plans, measuring and marking surfaces, and laying out work.
  • Assist in preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces.
  • Teach students how to spread adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and set tiles in position.
  • Instruct on the proper use and handling of all hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure tiles are correctly aligned and spaced.
  • Inform supervisor about material needs for job site.
  • Keep track of all tools and equipment used on the job on a daily basis.
  • Attend staff meetings and coordinate individual plans.
  • Serve as a mentor to trainees each program cycle.
About You

We are looking for a team player who is flexible and able to meet the needs of various stakeholders when it comes to training requirements. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be competent with Microsoft Office programs, and have strong organizational abilities.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong understanding of adult learning principles, a solid working knowledge of roof, wall and floor tiling, and a passion for teaching and passing on the trade to others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and deliver high-quality training sessions that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • To provide ongoing support and guidance to trainees throughout their training journey.
  • To maintain accurate records of training progress and performance.
  • To collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of training programs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a related field (e.g., construction management, education)
  • Experience in roof, wall and floor tiling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and effective training methods
