At Healthscope, we are committed to providing world-class healthcare services to our patients. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Medical Trainee to join our dynamic team in the Department of Adult Medicine.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in dealing with complex cardiac and cardiothoracic patients, working alongside a team of experienced specialists and admitting medical officers. Our mentoring program aims to motivate, direct, encourage, and nurture our trainees towards their career goals and aspirations.

The Medicine - Unaccredited Trainee clinical year consists of clinical rotations in Medicine and Relief, with opportunities for terms in Cardiology, Aged Care, General Medicine, and MAU. The successful candidate will contribute to the after-hours rosters and participate in Hospital-at-Night cover in the Division of Medicine.

To be successful in this role, you will meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner for a minimum of three years with progress towards career goals in Medicine
  • Demonstrated clinical competency and an ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement, and expertise
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management and evidence of sound working knowledge of legal and ethical obligations governing medical practice
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, and problem-solving skills in the clinical setting as part of a multidisciplinary team

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary relevant to your clinical experience ranging from $111,606 - $140,051 per annum.
