About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead to join our Data Streaming team at Shift. As a key member of our technical leadership team, you'll be responsible for leading, managing, and setting the technical direction for a team of software engineers.

Your primary focus will be on designing, crafting, and maintaining high-quality software products and solutions that support our business operations and requirements for handling business-critical data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers to design, develop, and maintain software applications using C# (.Net) and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Support the team in planning and prioritizing work in agile sprints, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical solutions, driving the development of those solutions from concept to launch.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and knowledge, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies, applying that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a technology-focused leadership role.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C# (.Net), JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
  • Experience building and running data-intensive applications, with a focus on software architecture and solution design.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Services, event-driven microservice architectures, and agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
