About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Supervisor to join our Fixed Plant team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical health and reliability of our fixed plant assets. This is a unique opportunity to develop your leadership skills and contribute to the success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with BHP policies and procedures, as well as relevant WHS and statutory obligations.
- As an Appointed Person, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve mechanical plant health and reliability.
- Maintain a high profile in promoting safe working conditions and practices.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Management Plans during shutdowns, focusing on material risk control and technical ability.
- Communicate and engage with all relevant stakeholders.
- Operate within an established maintenance management system, promoting a high level of team interaction and coordination.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A mechanical trade certificate or mechanical engineering degree.
- S26 statutory supervisor experience or the ability to obtain.
- A current unrestricted driver's license.
- Strong leadership experience in leading and developing teams.
- Excellent knowledge of plant and equipment.
- Highly developed analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- A safety focus with the ability to identify and implement safe work practices.
- The ability to follow plans clearly and concisely within a maintenance environment, demonstrating a sound knowledge of maintenance practices.
