Portfolio Management Office Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Analyst to support the portfolio delivery and contribute to the maturity of project, program, and portfolio management at the State Government of Victoria, Australia.
The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and professional certifications, with significant experience operating in a similar role with a strong track record of delivery. They will possess a strong understanding of project planning, benefits, budgeting, scheduling, risks, and issues management, reporting tools, and techniques.
The ideal candidate will have highly developed analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to recognize emerging issues of importance to prepare the required PMO documents, registers, processes, and guides. They will also have exposure to different delivery methodologies, such as agile, waterfall, and hybrid.
The Portfolio Management Office Analyst will be responsible for supporting the PMO Manager in the establishment of portfolio and project management frameworks, artefacts, processes, and systems. They will also prepare data and reports with project managers, the PMO team, and project stakeholders, with an understanding of the different needs of each.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and review of PMO processes and practices and identify opportunities for improved performance. They will also support project managers and delivery leads with reporting, financial, and risk management.
The ideal candidate will have clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise summary documentation, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals across all levels of the organization.
The Portfolio Management Office Analyst will be comfortable working with ambiguity and have a demonstrated ability to problem-solve, display flexibility, and pragmatism. They will also have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including experience in the use of Azure DevOps.
