Flexhive seeks an experienced Senior Policy Officer to lead and implement new policy, regulatory reform, and development of programs for the Victorian Government. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across the division in Melbourne CBD with an immediate start.

About the role

The Senior Policy Officer will analyze and develop policy options, engage with cross-portfolio and sector stakeholders, and prepare clear and accurate written material for decision makers and public consultation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading project delivery, including research, consultation, and briefing, to provide recommendations for actions by the Victorian Government.
  • Proactive consultation within the department, other government agencies, industry, businesses, and the community.
  • Timely and accurate advice on policy, procedures, and operational issues to management and stakeholders.
  • Preparing high-quality documents, including briefings and reports, within required deadlines.
  • Maintaining awareness of relevant trends and issues within the State, other States, and overseas.
Requirements
  • Experience in public sector policy development, regulatory reform, and program design.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and efficiency, particularly in buildings and the residential/consumer sector.
  • Tertiary qualifications in public policy, economics, engineering, science, or law.
  • Ability to collaborate, build relationships, and communicate effectively.
What We Offer

Estimated Salary: $75-$85 per hour plus superannuation dependent on experience.

A 3-month contract with a possible extension based on performance.
