Production Operations Specialist

The Shift Operator role is pivotal in our cement production team.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will work on a rotating 12-hour shift roster and be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of production assets, completing critical plant checks within site procedures, and meeting safety, environmental, quality, and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize initiative and problem-solving skills to anticipate potential issues.
  • Collaborate with the Production Supervisor and other team members to respond to operating plant problems and minimize plant delays.
  • Participate in training to develop multi-skilling capabilities and enable operators to work in all operational aspects, including plant isolations, permit issuing, kiln and cement mill processing, central control room operations, and ship loading procedures.
  • Adhere to daily Operation Plans.
  • Ensure operational standards, policies, and procedures are upheld.
  • Operate heavy mobile equipment safely.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • High level of commitment to safety, quality, and the environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to obtain or currently hold an HR license and operate mobile equipment.
  • Willingness to work in physically demanding environments, including hot work and confined spaces.
  • Positive 'Can Do' attitude and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
