Senior Executive Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to join our team as Chief Operating Officer. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of a fast-growing pharmaceutical company, where your leadership will be recognised and rewarded.

You will report directly to the Board and oversee the company's daily operations, ensuring that all departments collaborate effectively to drive operational efficiency and achieve strategic objectives. You will also manage budgeting and resource allocation to ensure optimal use of company assets, while maintaining full compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and governance standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive senior leadership experience within the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong understanding of operational, regulatory, and strategic functions. They will also have proven success in leading day-to-day operations, aligning departmental functions, and driving organisational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic & Operational Leadership
    • Lead and optimise the company's operational strategy and execution
    • Advise the Board on operational performance and strategic initiatives
    • Build organisational capability and oversee day-to-day operations across departments
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
    • Ensure full compliance with TGA, ASX, and other relevant regulatory bodies
    • Oversee corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory reporting
    • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance frameworks
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Develop and manage end-to-end supply chain strategy, including procurement, logistics, and vendor relationships
    • Ensure continuity, efficiency, and risk mitigation across supply chain operations
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Cultivate and manage relationships with key partners, suppliers, and regulatory authorities
    • Represent the company in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and strategic partnerships

  • Domestic travel as required
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive senior leadership experience (minimum 10 years) within the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong understanding of operational, regulatory, and strategic functions
  • Proven success in the Australian generics or specialty pharmaceutical market, with demonstrated ability to navigate complex industry dynamics
  • A solid track record in leading day-to-day operations, aligning departmental functions, and driving organisational efficiency
  • Strong capability in budget development and resource management, ensuring optimal allocation and financial performance
  • Working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, including familiarity with TGA, ASX, and relevant governance frameworks
  • Experience in supply chain oversight, including procurement, logistics, vendor management, and risk mitigation
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, while collaborating effectively with the Board and executive leadership
  • Tertiary qualifications in Pharmacy, Science, Business, or a related discipline (preferred)
