Program Overview
The AIR6500 initiative represents a significant investment aimed at developing a comprehensive air battle management system. This program leverages advanced sensor technologies and command and control frameworks to establish a fully integrated 'system of systems'. The objective is to enhance air and missile defense operations in both joint and coalition settings, thereby improving situational awareness and accelerating decision-making processes across the operational landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
In your capacity as the Lead Cyber Architect, you will oversee the management of cybersecurity protocols, architectural design, system development, testing, and integration. You will advocate for best practices that inform risk-based decisions, ensuring the integrity, visibility, compliance, and resilience of our systems.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing indirect leadership and mentorship to team members
- Defining System Security Architectures and supervising the implementation, testing, and integration of security measures across various capability enhancements
- Conducting system evaluations and offering recommendations to mitigate security risks, as well as authoring essential Security Documentation to support System Authorization
- Developing secure solutions for diverse contemporary container orchestration architectures and offering Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to stakeholders regarding security architecture, application security, and DevSecOps
Candidate Profile:
To excel in this role, you should possess a profound understanding of cybersecurity and resilience within the defense sector, coupled with substantial experience in systems security engineering. Key qualifications include:
- Practical experience and a comprehensive understanding of the Australian Government's security Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes
- Extensive background in defining security services and design patterns, assisting development teams in their implementation
- Significant experience in conducting and leading cyber risk assessments
- Familiarity with cross-domain solutions and multi-level security architectures
Special Requirements:
Candidates must be Australian Citizens and possess a current or reinstatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
