Academic Role Overview

Join a vibrant academic community to contribute to the teaching of undergraduate core law courses, particularly those mandated as "Prescribed Areas of Knowledge" for admission to legal practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and develop innovative course and program material for effective learning practices in the context of the discipline;
  • Engage in high-quality research with the potential to influence academic debate and advance knowledge nationally and internationally;
  • Supervise Higher Degree Research students and participate in service, citizenship, and engagement activities that support the strategic direction of the School and University;
  • Develop partnerships and demonstrate leadership through mentoring and internal service roles and committees;

This is a Teaching & Research position requiring a full-time commitment. Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated, but remote work is not possible.

Requirements

Applicants should possess a doctoral qualification in law, with evidence of engagement in learning and teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. A commitment to excellence, a record of high-quality research, and the capacity to apply for competitive funding are also essential.

A strong communication and interpersonal skillset, along with the ability to develop leadership skills, is necessary for success in this role. The successful candidate will also be required to maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia.
