Job Description

This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Design Manager with flexible work arrangements. We are looking for someone to support our continued expansion and growth as a team of experienced leaders.

The ideal candidate will have experience in project management, including managing budget, schedule, resources, and quality of deliverables. They will also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing engineering and design aspects of engineering projects, including conceptual design, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering.
  • Leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers, providing technical expertise, guidance, and mentorship to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Ensuring quality approval and sign-off of project's engineering and design.
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their requirements, develop project scopes, and deliver customized solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Managing external stakeholder relationships to ensure technically sound and schedule-aligned project outcomes.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies, with a focus on health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following qualifications and skills are required:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with a strong emphasis on planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
  • Tertiary certification (Cert IV or Diploma) in Project Management (highly regarded).
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar (highly regarded).
  • Extensive experience with discipline engineering design, with proven experience in a leadership role.
